Sinds een paar dagen kijken we met veel plezier naar het tamelijk shockerende Californication. Mij aangeraden door Mitch. Het is niet subtiel, vaak plat zelfs. ERG grafisch in beeld en tekst. En toch briljant.

De protagonist, schrijver Hank Moody (David Duchovny) vecht ieder aflevering tegen zichzelf en zijn gebrek aan inspiratie. Dat doet hij met name door veel sex met veel vrouwen, veel drank en coke en bral- en vechtpartijen. Kortom: klassieke sex, drugs & rock ‘n roll in een expliciet jasje (commerciële TV, dus veel naakt). Een en ander gaat gepaard met geniale quotes.
De kunst is om je niet te laten afleiden door de expliciete sex en goed te focussen op de teksten. Zen! Aanrader!

Unfortunately, iTunes is on strike or something. Only 11 of the 23 songs on the playlist are visible in iTunes. I bought all of them at the iTunes store, so these songs are in their database.
